Direct answer: The opener model alone does not determine the remote. If your Eagle 1000 FR is using an Eagle Chrome EG650 or EG652 receiver, Eagle documents Chrome-series transmitters such as EG640 and EG642 as compatible.

What to check first
Open the control box and identify the receiver. Eagle’s own manuals say the operator can accept 3-wire or 4-wire receivers, including other brands. If someone replaced the original receiver, the correct remote follows that receiver, not the Eagle 1000 name on the operator.
